At a glance

A wedding invitation should include the couple’s names, date, times, locations and an RSVP channel. List the ceremony and reception separately when needed, and check map links before sharing the invitation.

A welcome that sounds like you

Your invitation is your guests’ first introduction to the celebration. Start with your names and a simple message. There is no need for formal wording if it does not reflect who you are.

For example: “We’re getting married and would love to share this day with you.” After that welcome, make the practical details easy to find.

Clear dates and times

Write out the day, month and year, along with the start time. If the ceremony and reception begin at different times, label each part of the day separately.

If guests are traveling from another city or country, check the time zone configured for the event. Clear timing makes transport and accommodation easier to arrange.

Directions to each venue

Include the venue name and a complete address. Before sharing the invitation, open the map link and check that it points to the right entrance rather than just the surrounding area.

Where useful, add a brief note about parking, access or transport. If a detail is not confirmed yet, check it before publishing instead of leaving conflicting information.

RSVP and optional details

Provide a way to respond and, if needed, a deadline to help organize seating or catering. Invitevent can link to an external destination; responses are handled there, not inside the invitation.

Dress code, accommodation suggestions and gift information are optional. Include only what helps your guests and avoid publishing unnecessary personal information.

One final check before sending

Ask someone who has not helped with the planning to read the invitation. If they can tell you when it is, where to go and how to reply, you have covered the essentials.

Check the mobile version and the text contrast over photos too. Save changes manually and, if the invitation is already live, publish again to update the shared link.

  • The couple’s names and a welcome message.
  • Date, time and venues for the ceremony and reception.
  • Tested links and an RSVP channel.
  • Extra instructions only where needed.

To prepare your link, follow the step-by-step guide to creating a digital invitation and explore the available designs.
